Meet Jerri Lynn
How long have you been a wedding photographer and what makes you different from everyone else?
I've been taking pictures for as long as I can remember, even in high school working on our school year book, photography is a part of my everyday life. I started out professionally as a photojournalist for a local newspaper photographing nearly everything and anything- still life, fashion, beauty, sports, editorial and commercial assignments. I have been shooting weddings. family photographs, children, pets and photojournalism since 1998 and have had the opportunity to photograph some very special people including, Florida's First Lady Columba Bush on her visit to Southwest Florida, Pro Football player Edgerrin James, Tito Puente Jr. and Miss America 2003 Erika Harold and most recently Americas Next Top Model Cycle 10 Winner Whitney Thompson! My desire to catch just that perfect moment drives me to strive for perfection in my photography. What I discovered along the way, is that I'm great at telling stories through pictures. I have the ability to visualize the moment and capture your wedding without disrupting the flow of the day. I am an artist who offers years of creative know how, with the technical expertise and vision necessary to capture your wedding day.
What type of couples do you work best with?
All of my couples have a true love and admiration for photography. They are successful young professionals who want creative photography that's not just the ordinary stand over there and smile into the lens approach. We tell stories on your wedding day and our couples are people who know their first priority is to enjoy their wedding day and who want to share all the beautiful moments with family and friends. They are more concerned with the emotional impact of the images and the creativity that I can explore, rather than just having a list of pictures for me to take on their day. They understand that this is a once in a lifetime event and want the very best photography.
What is your style of photography?
I consider myself a blend of styles. First of all, I have a strong bias towards photojournalism coming from that photography background. I believe the photographer should capture the day as it naturally occurs and not stage or pose every moment. On the other hand, I do love creative portraits! It is my goal to come away from your wedding with a creative portrait that defines the essence of your wedding day and who you are as a couple. Although this creative portrait is a planned situation, I make it feel like it's relaxed and has happened spontaneously. You could say that my photography conforms to contemporary trends but is very expressive at the same time. Here are some adjectives that I have heard about my photography: emotional, joyful, vibrant, bright, fun.
Will you work with the other vendors I’ve already found or people I really want to work with?
Of course. I am a team player and well respected in the wedding vendor community. As a member of the National Association of Wedding Professionals and the Professional Photographers Association we highly recommend vendors that are also members of these professional organizations and love working with them. I'm also happy to recommend the following vendors here on our website:
This all sounds perfect for my wedding. But, it also seems expensive. Are we going to be able to afford all this?
Yes, it is an investment for you. Photography is one of only a few physical items that you will hold on to from your wedding day. We have three distinct “Photography Collections” for you to choose from. All of the products I offer are of the highest quality and custom made only for you. Since these pictures are going to be with you for your entire marriage, I want them to become an heirloom, that will be cherished from generation to generation. The essence of my photography is that it brings you back to your wedding day whenever you want - that is the value I bring to your wedding day.
Remember the only thing we have to remember this special day are the photographs taken by our photographer. “The cake has been eaten, the flowers have faded and the dress is packed away and we can look at our wedding album and remember how beautiful everything about our wedding was. Everything we so carefully planned.”
Do you take credit cards and can we have a payment plan?
Yes. I happily accept all major credit cards. That’s how I do most of my business actually. My basic payment plan is $250 deposit that is due at the signing of the contract to hold your date. We can set up a payment plan especially for you and ask that everything be paid in full two weeks prior to your wedding. What also makes me different from others vendors is that I setup automatic payments so that you never have to worry about sending checks.
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes. I have the necessary liability insurance that allows me to work confidently every where. If your venue requires proof of coverage, I'm happy to oblige by providing them with a certificate and I do not charge you for this added service.
Do you take more than one wedding per day?
It would be impossible for me to do that. I dedicate the day to you alone. When you hire Photography By Jerri Lynn, I will be there from start to finish with one assistant. We will cover your day especially for you!
Where are you located, do you travel?
I am based in Southwest Florida in the Estero, Fort Myers area, but am available for travel anywhere. Not only is photographing weddings in new locations exciting, it also lets me meet and learn about people from all walks of life, something that I truly enjoy doing. My photography business is run out of my home and all photography is done in the location of your choice.
